It’s only natural that more people are choosing bed and breakfasts over hotels- at B&Bs you are truly guests and in Bocas del Toro you can expect the same.
Throughout the Bocas del Toro archipelago you can find a wide variety of Bed and Breakfasts: historic Bocas Town homes to idyllic Caribbean beachfront villas.
Below is our lists of some of Bocas del Toro’s most charming Bed and Breakfasts.
Lula’s Bed & Breakfast: Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro
Lula’s Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful and charming place to stay, located on Ave Norte, it is within walking distance to Main Street yet far enough to avoid the sound of music from bars and restaurants at night.
The historic Caribbean home is large and decorated with traditional Panamanian artisan work. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The reception area is well organized and has all the information you need about tours and exploring the area’s natural wonders.
From the moment you arrive, warm, natural woods, cool tiles and abundant plants welcome you to the islands.
The breakfasts are delicious: fresh johnny cakes with homemade jam, scrambled eggs, pancakes, freshly baked muffins, organic coffee… you get the idea.
The owners and managers are quick to help in setting up day tours. Also ran from Lula’s is Bocas Surf School, which offers an excellent opportunity to learn how to surf in Bocas del Toro.
Sand Dollar Beach Bed & Breakfast: Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro
This beachfront villa is located only 3 minutes by taxi to Bocas Town. This large Caribbean style villa has large verandas that open up to a beautiful, white sand beach. Around the area are several smaller beaches such as Big Creek, Paunch, and postcard Bluff Beach is a 20 minute bike ride up the road.
Waking up here includes: monkeys hollowing and parrots calling in the backyard jungle, sunrise over Carenero island (frontyard), delicious omelets and homemade freshly baked bread and fruit. Coffee is organic and from the nearby award winning coffee town of Boquete, Chiriqui.
Taxis are a $1 to town and you can avoid being in noisy Bocas Town. Instead sleep to the sound of waves crashing outside.
The manager knows Bocas del Toro very well and is always helpful in setting up tours and island safaris; of course lounging around the beach all day will also work!
